Gun folks are generally good folks

I have short arms and deep pockets so have always been a bargain hunter. Was recently introduced to facebook marketplace and was surprised to find that there was a fair amount of firearms related stuff to be found. Despite some serious misgivings about the platform I messaged sellers and scored a couple of deals from local sellers where I could inspect the goods.

On seeing an ad posted by a young looking guy from far away for a mad bargain on a stash .270 Win hunting bullets I decided to take a risk and paid immediately. The unit cost was so low (under R1.50/bullet) that the total was low enough for a gamble, even for me.

Not expecting much I was pleasantly surprised to get a waybill the next day. A few days later I went and fetched the package and found that the young gent had not only sent me more perfectly packaged bullets than he had advertised but had also added a bunch of once fired brass for the calibre.

For a bitter and twisted cynic like me, this was a valuable reminder of the fact that there are a lot of good folks out there. On reflection it also reminded me that in the last 30 odd years of buying second hand stuff from gun people I have only ever been scammed (lightly) twice. That's pretty remarkable IMO.

Look on Gun Site, a friend of mine was given a box of unfired live .270 PMP cartridges by a person he had never met (DsJ here on site). He needed the specific combo. There was no money exchanged, just a help out - as they are not available to buy anymore.

I am who I am - I am not who you want me to be.
Therefore I am me.

It was I who got the ammo from DsJ, what a surprise, all nicely wrapped and sent with a friend.

 Wow !
