General Discussion / Re: Yes - You can still shoot ...

I know of two cases in the Vaal Triangle where the licensed owner had to take preventative steps and employ a lawyer to counter false accusations. One was a divorce case where the wife accused the husband of threatening her with a gun. The other was a mother-in-law who carries a grudge against her son-in-law and also made similar accusations. Both the parties mentioned had to fork out money to keep their firearms.

The best part of the story in the video I posted was the fact that he is still married to the woman and she is expecting their second child. It seems as though she is reluctant to tell the truth to the cops.

Makes me think of the joke about passengers in a train where the husband and wife conversed through one of their children. A fellow passenger enquired about this strange action. The husband replied that they have not been on speaking terms for 10 years, but they have three kids of age 8, 6 and 3. When the passenger remarked on this, the answer was that they were not that cross with one another.

A blowback action has to be made heavier, as I understand it.

By implication, it would be more sensitive to variations in the ammunition.

They probably save production cost and make it more reliable.

FOR GERMAN SPECIAL FORCES: G95 K

Interesting that they are using an AR15 type action ?
Actually looks like a clone of an AR15
What happened to their roller lock system ?

Why do you think HK discontinued delayed blowback action?

One hopes it works better than their Leopard II

I gather the "punch-line" starts at 14:15 ?  police taking guns ?
Read through a bit and you will discover it has everything to do with an aggrieved partner ( woman ) making a complaint at the local police,
Just like this one ...

IF the police have "serious" complaints submitted then they have to attend to them
Unfortunately some police like to make the most of - "their powers"

One wonders what the police will do with someone that has more than 300 military vehicles - most of which are NOT "de-activated"

Just like everywhere else - not what you know but who you know
It also helps if you have been a serving member of the MoD - especially with active service
It also depends on what part of the country you reside in

Just be VERY grateful we do NOT have the same competency here !

Ek het al baie slagdoppe so uitgedruk en weer hergebruik sonder probleme. Dra 'n bril en druk dit stadig uit. As dit te veel druk vereis skiet liefs die dop in jou geweer.

Quite astounding really -the things you can still do in the ( anti-gun ) UK
Maybe even more than here ?

Notice the interesting Mauser
Notice the single Shor R1 ( SLR ) - VERY strange that
Notice the very interesting electronic shot marker

Have a look at the rest of the channel
Colonel du Toit and the SBB should go "shopping" there !

Quote from: oafpatroll on May 10, 2024, 09:52 PMI understand that the primers are 'set' on seating, i.e. they get slightly compressed so the compound is close enough to the firing pin and the anvil to reliably detonate. I'm sure you can get them out and reseat them again but is it worth the risk of a pants soiling if you get it wrong and the saving if you get it right?

It is exactly my concern - a small amount of detonating compound going off on the inside of a depriming die might cause some trouble. It is not worth the risk.
