Title: Caliber versus bullet weight and length
Post by: Treeman on Mar 13, 2023, 06:46 PM
I have often asked if there is not a formula for the perfect weight - length for every diameter of bullet. Surely every diameter would have a length at which it becomes too long for that diameter, I do not think that weight really matters for an calibre, only length. Perhaps it could be said, "the more case capacity the heavier one can load, but not so with the bullet length - regardless of twist.
Someone from GunSite once sent me this.

Sums it up well ? or not ?
