Title: The #4 -.303
Post by: Treeman on May 28, 2024, 09:18 AM
Please correct where able.
The #4 was the post WW2 BETTERMENT rifle with the squared finish's. It was basically the final result, bout as good as the Lee got ?
This is, the  better of the lot and best of acuracy etc in the Lee range. The one prefered if you bother trying to sportarise a Lee.
Just wondering, should I try make something of it.

I believe the Lee Enfield No4 mk2 was the final variant before it was replaced by the FN FAL by the British empire.

If you want to sporterise then you should also not discount the 7.62x51 variant of the "Lee Enfield", the Isaphore (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ishapore_2A1_rifle)

Oh yea - it throws 2 inch's at a 100 m with no load development - Mil Issue Ammo. I am thinking what to use it for or to just cut and chop and make a "something".
Bakkie gun or dedicated bushpig "rondgooi" weapon, dunno ?
