Title: Best time to hunt on foot?
Post by: Ds J on Jun 25, 2024, 01:45 PM
What is the best time of the day to hunt on foot?

Very early, basically still dark, or just after sunrise when everything wakes up and starts moving, or early morning when it start getting warm?

We used to go out early, and continue till late morning. Or we were dropped off, and walked back to the house.

To be in the bush before it gets light and be in a look out spot as visibility becomes possible is the greatest of feelings and it really works to be sitting still 30 mins before and a hour after the sun comes up.
After a lifetime hunting, I have now become very fond of last light hunting, its just the best, but not for beginners, there is no room for error.

In the morning with the sun at your back and the wind at your front is heaven!!!!!!

That's just the ticket for waterfowl where we shoot.
