Title: Lee Trimming Options
Post by: DaavG on Jul 29, 2024, 10:51 AM
Hi All,

I'm looking at trimming my rifle brass - 3 calibres only currently and wanted to get feedback on the Lee systems available and how square they cut the brass mouths?

Lee Quick Trim (Deluxe / Standard) seems very simple and I like the die to support the brass but its a little more to invest into vs. the case length gauge and cutter system.

I have looked at Sudami X system which also looks very fast and accurate with the collects but its a bit more pricey.

Any thoughts or input?

I have over the years ended up with the Lee trimmer that has a die that goes into press and then a hand trimmer like a coffee grinder than you turn to cut the case using a mandrel into primer pocket that controls the cut depth.

I also have a Lyman trimmer which is like a lathe that holds case over a pilot that has blades to trim case - it is totally adjustable and can also be used to cut neck thickness - both work well.
