I heard a noise about two weeks ago and had it checked, they said upper control arm was worn, it was booked in for Friday, but the mechanic ended up in hospitable for a knee operation. It was not the control arm, as we found out.

Fighting insurance now, they trying to send a tow truck to fetch it, how do you make these clowns understand that their R2000 will not cover getting a tow truck to site, only to have the driver tell you that he can not get to where I am. They insist it must be towed out.
Like how ?

That's a mess. Can't think of any way other than bringing mechanic and parts to the problem. Good luck and I hope you get it sorted without to much pain.

Considering how you use your vehicle it might be worth looking at a specialist 4x4 insurance policy which includes real allowances for recoveries.

Got vehicle back, its a 2011 model - Ford calls it obsolete, no spares - country wide courier work for all parts needed.
13 years old and Ford no longer has spares ?

Vehicle is running, but the front CV supplied is very noisy. They say the angle of operating is different to the older model. So we still scratching.

Hate to be the bearer of bad tidings but I guess you know this already. A noisy CV is not long for this world.
