Title: Shotguns in high wind?
Post by: Ds J on Oct 21, 2024, 09:44 PM
We went to test three loads for the .410 today, when we came to the shooting point the wind was quite serious - easily 40km/h, and probably more.

I could not hit an A4 sheet at 15m, or just barely, with #8 shot @ 1145fps.

Is this common?

I do not think the "shot" was at fault. I also stood in the wind this afternoon and any light gun would have been affected by the gusts. You were shooting at a stationary target, but it might have been better at a moving one.
