This has managed to push all my buttons to the wrong positions.

I held off booking for this till I had accomodation confirmed.

I tried to book online, but there is no availability at that venue on those dates.

I called the number, explained that I will be attending the shoot, explained what accomodation I wanted to book, with dates, and was told to expect a booking confirmation.

I've spoken to the person on the other end of the number provided two more times, as no confirmation was happening.

This time, I was informed that they first have to check with people who registered last year and the year previously, before I can confirm accomodation.

It would have saved me a lot of time and irritation if I was told that when I first enquired for accomodation.

It's highly irritating on multiple levels.

I expect an event of this caliber to be first paid, first served.

At the very least, on principle, the match organiser should disclose to participants that there is preferential treatment in place, depending on who you are.

I would have paid the match fee, and found out afterwards that there was no accomodation at the venue because there's a preferential treatment methodology in place.

I've informed the match organiser of my opinion, and if the accomodation arrangements can't be rectified in future, I won't support that event, or any other event hosted by Guns & Bows.

This would really cause me to go public ballistic blow up.
I am who I am - I am not who you want me to be.
Therefore I am me.

The match organiser sent me a mail today, saying the farm owner manages the accomodation. Like a low grade cop-out. That farm owner can go manage his accomodation where the sun don't shine.

Firstly, why market accomodation on the match entry, then say you have no control over the accomodation.

Second, how can a match organiser entrust the match competitors accomodation to a place he has no say in and no control over. That is a big part of the match experience, considering people will be there for at least 3 days.

The venue is in the middle of nowhere, it's not like anyone can drive home for the night.

And if you have no control over the venue, provide people with a list of places to stay, and let them sort themselves out, instead of actively advertising and punting said accomodation, then saying you have nothing to do with it.

It comes across to me as unprofessional and opportunistic, just trying to spin as much money out of it as possible.
