Then put my mark on it and hardened and tempered it and sanded it back again, then fitted Nickle silver bolsters with Mosaic pins, then put Sambar deer antler handles on it with brass pins and lanyard holder and finished up like this

This knife was made by an 81 year old Aussie who posts under the name Deermaster.

Well finally finished off the Damascus knife I've been working on. As you know I made the Damascus steel, there was a lot of work in making that and then a hell of a lot more to getting ready for a handle. Then I decided that some special Beefwood I had, had figure in the timber that looks like the pattern in the steel. Finally finished it and sharpened it. Sprayed some inox on as it shows the pattern better in a video. Glad this one is finished. I put three Mosaic pins in the handle too.
I suppose there isn't a real lot of makers that can say, I made the steel and I cut the timber for handles a few years ago and hardened and tempered the steel. So this knife is a pretty special knife, even though one day someone will want it and I will probably sell it. But I suppose, I can always make another one
