Which South African bullet makers make bonded bullets ?
I am who I am - I am not who you want me to be.
Therefore I am me.
Claw, Stewart and Spoor make bonded bullets. Quest bullets have different thickness cups to try and avoid bullet failure.
I have used Claw, good bullet, but sometimes not accurate. Quest and spoor MMMMNN ? Who has used them ?

Spoor is excellent, I have used it for hunting. Feedback on his Facebook page and jaracal are positive. It’s a pleasure dealing with Rudi.
FMG ! Spoor wants R2280 for 100 bullets ????????????????????????? Like How ? WTF ! No ways man, how ?

Proce of copper. CNC machine to cut the bullets. Bonding the lead tip in the nose to the copper projectile. Time and expensive material.

I hear you, I only found out later that they CNC turned, thought they were plain bonded bullets.
Over kill for my needs.

So after some research I got the info needed. Also lucky enough that Rudy messaged me with info needed. So the Spoor bullets are like next level stuff, CNC turned copper with a bonded lead soft point, a lot of work must go into that process and it would be an obvious winner when looking for a TOP TOP notch bullet.
So yea, after getting the process explained and details, I can understand the pricing - get what you pay for kinda thing.
Price of copper is getting just stupid.

Yo Treeman !
Are you not the same person that moans when we arrive at your hunts with cheapest ammunition? What is that sarci remark you always mumble ? " The bullet is the cheapest part of a hunt, and you choose to try save on that rand or two"
Cough Cough ! Treeman !!
Save 1 kilo of meat @ R40 per kilo - bullet price is only half that.

I have heard this moan since I was too young to shoot, everytime my Dad see's a box of those S and B bullets.
My 7-08 really does do a lot of meat damage, I wonder if its not just because its a 7 mm
Be interested.
Be Amazed.
Be Kind.
Be Grateful.
Nope, not the 7mm. I hunt with 7x64, Barnes 150 at 2850fps and no snotty blood. There is blood, but of a thicker texture and the meat is still usable for mince or dried wors.
I have to complement you on the good looking couple that appeared in the photos your dad posted.
Rudy does stand behind his bullets 100%. He has to make a living as well.
If you look around a bit, you should find some good bonded bullets available. S&O had a good deal on Norma Oryx range. Got a few hundred of the 165gr. Very accurate out of all of my rifles. Also found a few Swift Scirocco bullets on Hunt&Gun auction. This is the bullets Sako use in their hammerhead ammunition that was sold for R2000 for 20 in 2023.
